This is an oil-based version of our customer favorite cleansing balm made just for the summer, featuring a blend of house-crafted plant extracts of echinacea, chamomile, lavender, helichrysum, gotu kola, horsetail, witch hazel, & eyebright, blended into a base of camellia and castor oils, with myrrh and frankincense resin infusions.

Chrysalis was inspired by the monarchs who visit my registered Monarch waystation, resting and feeding on the echinacea. The final formula emerged with the same soft green hue as a real chrysalis, a quiet affirmation of its purpose: to restore, protect, and prepare -  like the monarch’s chrysalis, a tender shell where transformation begins.

How to Use
  • Prepare your area with a washcloth, cleanser, and a clean, dry scoop or cosmetic spatula.
  • Use 2-4 pumps and apply to your face.
  • Wet your hands with warm water and begin gently massaging the cleanser around your face, focusing on areas with makeup or any other product. Continue to massage for 1-2 minutes. This will not burn your eyes like soap.
  • Prepare a hot towel by running hot water, getting washcloth wet and wringing to damp, then immediately apply to face and hold to steam. Take a deep breath.
  • Gently dab off areas of makeup, do not pull skin. Pat other areas lightly to remove any excess.
  • Follow immediately with a generous spritz of hydrosol, then your favorite moisturizer right onto damp skin.

Without Preservatives

Formulation

All HANDS products are anhydrous, meaning they are made without water. This allows formulations to be made without preservatives, emulsifiers or thickeners. As a result, these products may be a thicker/less watery consistency than commercial products you with which you are accustomed. 
This also allows the active botanicals to be more available to your skin, and presents the cleanest formulas possible. As a result, extra care also needs to be taken to not allow water to enter the jar.
